Personal interview with one of our candle Painters, Poppie who's been with Kapula for 15 years

Magrieta Oliver, who we know as Poppie is a Candle Painter at Kapula. She’s been with the Kapula Team for 15 years. She was born in Bredasdorp and has lived here all her 41 years.


A tribute and personal interview with one of our very talented Ceramic Painters and Designers

Elandi De Weber aged 30 better known, as Lana is a Ceramic Painter at Kapula. She has been in our employment for 3 years and is in charge of supervising the team, which paints our African Lady themed candles. She also plays a significant role in the development of designs for new ranges.

The countdown has begun, as Kapula will be attending the most exciting trade show of the year, the Mega Show Part One in Hong Kong from 20-23 October. Since its introduction in 1992, the Mega Show has taken the world by storm, becoming the largest annual trade show.

Sub-Saharan Africa is rich in culture, landscapes and wildlife. A place where the bushman roams the blistering sands of the Kalahari by day and when the mighty African sun burns slowly into the horizon, you can hear the sounds of beasts in the darkness while the cosmos turn slowly above - It’s a place unlike anywhere else in the world, unmatched by beauty. It’s a living, breathing continent.

Kapula heads for SARCDA

Kapula handcrafted candles and ceramics will again be represented at this year’s SARCDA trade exhibition in August, an annual event the Bredasdorp company has attended for over a decade.
SARCDA is a premier organiser of toy, gift and décor retail exhibitions in South Africa. It takes place twice a year at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand and attracts over 600 local and international exhibitors. Over 20 000 verified retail buyers attend the event across both exhibitions.

Tribute to a Kapula stalwart

This year marks a milestone for a member of the Kapula family. As its longest-serving employee, Gina Volkers celebrated 18 years with the company in April.

Kapula expands its bisque factory

The growth of the Kapula business has been the motivation behind greater investment in its production facilities in Bredasdorp.
Although the enterprise remains a community of artisans, it has grown rapidly to encompass several premises as the popularity of its handcrafted and hand painted candles and ceramics has spread. The company now has customers across the world and ships regularly to markets in Europe.
